The brand “cooking with fire” reflects her commitment to doing things that ignite burning desire and to live life with passion and purpose. She wrote the series of cookbooks to share her burning desire for healthy, fiery foods of the world and is dedicated to sharing her passion for fiery fare and creating fabulous, fun and flavorful food characterized by healthy and light recipes.

Linda doesn’t claim to be a food expert. She does, however, develop recipes and write for people who, like her, love fabulous food and entertaining friends and family. The recipes are easy-to-follow and focus on the needs and interests of contemporary cooks, from beginner to experienced, with busy lifestyles.

Growing up on a mixed grain farm in central Alberta meant a strong emphasis on good, wholesome food, particularly in the spring and fall when additional farm help was around to feed. Linda has been cooking as long as she can remember and has always enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home. Linda acquired her love of Mexican food through numerous trips to Mexico. She developed a passion for the people, places and the cuisine that Mexico so generously offers and it was this passion for Mexico that first inspired Linda and Sheri Morrish to write The Fire ‘n’ Ice Cookbook.

Since the release of The Fire ‘n’ Ice Cookbook, Linda has traveled to many other places and has continued her culinary adventures into other fiery cuisines of the world. She feels very fortunate to live in Calgary, which is a very cosmopolitan city that offers a melting pot of culture and cuisine from the four corners of the earth and she will continue to travel and experience as many flavor adventures as possible in the years to come.

In addition to cooking and entertaining, Linda also enjoys travel, reading, photography, skiing, walking, biking, rollerblading, gardening, learning Spanish and working out to maintain optimum fitness.

Linda has lived in Alberta all of her life and has had a wonderful mixture of urban and rural living in her background. In addition to the publishing business, Linda works as a Joint Venture specialist in the petroleum industry, is a partner in a book publicity and marketing company (see www.inktreemarketing.com for more information), is a distributor in an exciting trillion dollar industry (see www.cookingwithfire.usana.com for more information), and is involved in several real estate investment projects. She passionately enjoys the people in her life and the wide variety of business ventures she’s involved in.
